Description alex diavatis 2012-12-04 02:58:46 UTC
[1]Cannot add new items in an empty dock
----------------------------------------
Reproduce
-----------
1. Empty all items from dock, only the 9-dot is visible
2. Open App Overview
3. Drag an App into Dock

The App goes directly into the 9-dot button, and you can add the first App only by <right click> + <add to favorites>

[2]Cannot always add a item in a dock that has only one item
-------------------------------------------------------------
Reproduce
----------
1. Dock has only one item (plus the 9-dot button)
2. Open App Overview
3. Drag an app into Dock (before or after the already existing one)

Sometimes you can add it, but most of the times it doesn't work. I can't really reproduce this one. Dragging App in Dock works as supposed only when you have more than 2 items (+ 9-dot)

[3] Dragging an app that already is on dock, it has un-expected behavior
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reproduce
----------
1. Having Boxes running
2. Open App Overview
3. Try to drag again boxes into dock

As I don't want to add an app that already exists, I am trying to skip it.
But I cannot place it on top/bottom/over of the (running or not) Boxes Icon, so I have to
----------
1. either re-positioning it
2. Drag it on 9-dot (that will also remove it from favorites, -if was it)
3. Drag it on Desktop
3.1. If Boxes run: that will put my cursor in "loading-pointer" for almost 1min
3.2. If Boxes doesn't run: that will launch it without wanting it.
4. Step 3 will make Shell to launch a new instance of a running App if allowed (ie AisleRiot Solitaire)

[4] Dock Icons go really small if you have 11 or more.
------------------------------------------------------
My screen resolution is 1680x1050, but is really hard to identify icons. Although there is plenty of free vertical space for Dock to keep a bigger size on icons, GS doesn't make use of it.

Sometimes I am removing icons from favorites because I can't work with this size, or I add Apps that already exist, and that leads me on issue [3].
Having 10 Apps on dock, isn't something unusual.

Please file one bug report per issue. [1] and [2] are the same bug, [4] sounds like bug 686344. I'm not quite sure what you mean with [3], is that covered by bug 686984?

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 684618 ***

[1] is duplicated of bug 684618.
[2] is a bug when dash has only one item. I can fill another report for it.
[3] is duplicated of bug 686984
[4] is not like bug 686344 and I will fill another report.

Thanks!
