GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 688641
Signature texts handled incorrectly
Last modified: 2012-11-19 14:28:08 UTC
I have multiple e-mail accounts set up in Evolution 3.6.0 (as it comes with Ubuntu Quantal). I also set up multiple different e-mail signatures (in the sense of standard texts added to the end of the message - not cryptographic signatures). One of the mail accounts is configured as the default account. For the default account, one of the signatures is selected as the default signature (on the "Identity" tab in the account config dialog). For the other mail accounts, no standard signature is selected. Problem #1: When I create a new mail message for one of the other (!!) mail accounts, the standard signature for the default account is included in the composer window (without the "--" line that normally precedes the signature). This does not happen if the default account does not have a standard signature selected, so it must indeed be related to the default account settings. Problem #2: If I do select a default signature for one of the other accounts, then *both* signatures (the default signature from the active account plus the default signature from the default account) are concatenated for new mails on this account. As a result, both signatures are included in the mail. Problem #3: When I switch between signatures while editing a message (using the drop-down box on the top right of the composer window), the previously used signature is not correctly replaced by the newly selected one. Instead, the new signature is additionally appended. I suppose that all three problems are interrelated...
