Description Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 12:59:27 UTC
it's mostly 3.6.

Epiphany 3.6.0-0ubuntu1
Comment 1 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-11 13:11:50 UTC
Are you using gnome-shell?
Comment 2 Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 14:13:18 UTC
Yes, I am using gnome-shell, not unity, xfce, fvwm95 or kde. 3.6.0-0ubuntu3

Reboot after a dist-upgrade.
Comment 3 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-11 14:32:58 UTC
Has the GNOME Shell Integration plugin been disabled? Try re-enabling it.
Comment 4 Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 14:46:44 UTC
OK. How?

gnome-tweak-tool shell extensions doesn't list that.
epiphany extensions manager doesn't list that either.

apt-cache search integration isn't immediately useful.
apt-cache search epiphany-browser isn't useful.
Comment 5 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-11 14:48:48 UTC
It's an NPAPI plugin. I don't know how Epiphany manages that. The plugin should come with the gnome-shell package. I don't know if Ubuntu splits it out into a separate package or not.
Comment 6 Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 15:02:13 UTC
Ah, epiphany doesn't, as far as I can see.

extensions.gnome.org doesn't tell you it's firefox-only.

I have found /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libgnome-shell-browser-plugin.so
Comment 7 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-11 15:04:12 UTC
It's not. NPAPI is a standard supported across all browsers.
Comment 8 Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 15:22:36 UTC
Hmm, epiphany about:plugins lists it, and lists it as enabled for mime type application/x-gnome-shell-integration. I haven't found a way to disable it yet.

plugin appears to work in firefox and chrome. at least, extensions.gnome.org doesn't report an error.

quit epiphany doesn't help.

epiphany for www.gnome.org:

Anyone know the default location for "bp log" (I assume browser plugin log)
Comment 10 Berend De Schouwer 2012-10-11 15:30:15 UTC
ldd /usr/bin/epiphany-browser gives (amongst others):

	libgtk-3.so.0 => /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0 (0xb549b000)

I wonder why it says "Browser toolkit is Gtk2"
