I pushed a patch that *might* fix this... can you try again? If it still happens, can you check the report the following info:

 - if the duplicated items are volumes or also plain folders
 - if you did plug in a drive (e.g. the phone) while the app was running
 - if the duplicates go away if you clear the recents (rm ~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel)
