GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 683019
App requires signing to work with default security settings on 10.8
Last modified: 2013-04-23 21:18:30 UTC
OS X 10.8 requires, by default, applications to be signed in order to run. The Gimp app bundle in the 2.8.2-1 installer is not signed and thus users can not run it without lowering their security settings (which most users are unlikely to do).
The packages from http://gimp.lisanet.de (GIMP on OS X) are already signed with an Apple Developer ID.
Cool :) I suppose you can just get one for free from apple?

Right-Click - Open seems to be the consensus for now. Not marking as closed simply because this is Apple's issue, not ours.
Signing requires an Apple Developer ID, and that ID costs money, which means we would have to pay money in order to distribute free software to a platform. No thanks, this is ridiculous.
