Sketch of the new categories

We are planning during GUADEC2012 to split up core modules into smaller/new categories, as documented here:
https://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/SplittingModules

Here is a patch to change the category names on the http://l10n.gnome.org/languages/C/gnome-3-6/ui/ page. The page itself should still continue to contain everything the Release Team considers "GNOME 3.6", only better organized.

Just came into my mind: if we want to keep old releases as they are, maybe then it's not the best idea to remove old category names.

New category names based on my proposal

There was no significant opposition to my new proposal, so how about going with it? Maybe not perfect, but it's time to come up with something for 3.8.

Pushed, thanks!
Feel free to ping me if there is some gruntwork I can help with (assigning modules to categories...).

I had something quite similar already on my local git... damn ... release early release often ... :)

Anyway, great to see this moving along :)

Are we waiting for something before pushing it to live? I don't see it in http://l10n.gnome.org/module/glade/edit/branches/ for example.
Comment 6 Gil Forcada 2012-12-15 17:19:12 UTC
Actually, now that I think of it... the obsolete set, more than a category within a release, shouldn't be a release by itself?
Comment 7 Gabor Kelemen 2012-12-15 17:58:32 UTC
Gil, I'm doing the module shuffling right now. If you want to discuss things, I'm on IRC :). But yeah, the Legacy category is probably safe/good idea to split out to a separate release set.
