GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 678029
Empathy not connecting to Gtalk
Last modified: 2018-05-22 15:34:49 UTC
Originally reported at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/997017 Empathy fails to connect to gtalk on both Google apps accounts and normal gmail accounts. You also cannot create xmpp account with the Gtalk settings. In past versions one could double check the settings under the advanced settings, but these are no longer available. In Natty my gtalk accounts all functioned if I remembered to open Empathy after logging on to my laptop. I also tried to edit /home/vincent/.mission-control/accounts/accounts.cfg but this also fails. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: empathy 3.4.1-0ubuntu1

mcd-DEBUG: 09/05/2012 10:47:02.357678: mcd_connection_invalidated_cb: Proxy destroyed (g-resolver-error-quark (#0): couldn't connect to server: Error resolving '': No address associated with hostname)!
Same as bug 676041?
Nicolas: it's still not clear to me how to check if a proxy is used by gabble to connect. Could you please provide a simple script to check if a proxy will be used to connect to a specific host?
