GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 674538
Single Window Mode is not default
Last modified: 2017-04-25 02:28:42 UTC
Seems Single Window Mode is turned off by default currently.
It would be nice if the default was on, rather than off for the final 2.8 release - it made complete sense to have it off by default during it's development, now that it works correctly I guess 'on' as a default makes sense for most users.
Then it would also make sense to have a sensible default configuration for swm. What it ends up after switch-on is a bit funny in the swm context.
what's the status of this bug? Anything specifically blocking it?
You can help by attaching a default sessionrc that you consider useful.
Created attachment 251016 [details] Default sessionrc with (single-window-mode yes)
Just noticed it's been 6 months since this was updated. Can we close this if it's not a bug now?
would be nice to get this landed
Indeed. Fixed in master. I used a self made sessionrc, not the attached one. commit 2d071a086b423916e5eeac4db0db575d4ad09712 Author: Michael Natterer <mitch@gimp.org> Date: Thu Jan 15 18:58:50 2015 +0100 Bug 674538 - Single Window Mode is not default New defauilt sessionrc which uses single-window-mode. etc/sessionrc | 102 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++------------------ 1 file changed, 70 insertions(+), 32 deletions(-)
