GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 672285
Calendar tooltips sometimes stick around longer than they should.
Last modified: 2012-08-09 12:38:44 UTC
Created attachment 209996 [details] Screenshot arrangement to get tooltip to persist for the "test" appointment. In Evo 3.2.2, I get some calendar tooltips/popups that seem to stick around longer than they should. Series of steps to reproduce it: 1) Switch to Calendar. 2) Move a window, such a terminal window, such that it's to the bottom right of an appointment (as per attachment). 3) Mouse over the calendar appointment, and the tooltip will appear after roughly a second. 4) Move cursor down over the terminal window. As long as you don't go into the calendar grid, the tooltip will keep displaying. 5) Move the mouse back into the Evo window, but keep the cursor out of the calendar grid. For example, you can go down to the bottom of the screen and left, and then click the "Mail" button and start reading email. 6) The tooltip will stick around indefinitely, until a key is pressed on the keyboard, or the mouse enters the calendar grid. I could reproduce this is in Ubuntu 11.10, but not in Fedora 16. I think that's because the window resize mouse grab boundary has been extended by a few pixels outside of the window in Fedora, and as soon as the cursor changes for that, the tooltip disappears.
I can confirm this in 3.2.3 on Fedora 16.
