Description Robert Roth 2012-02-17 09:18:51 UTC
There is now a freedesktop standard for retrieving OS name, version, etc [1]
We should use it as the default (and fallback to the current behavior if not available) as this one has the user-friendly names of the OS, and most of the information we currently mine from lsb_release.
Implementing this would probably fix bug 557245.
