This is what it looks like.

This happened suddenly. My Gimp was a 2.11 but I uninstalled it and installed 2.12 and I still have the same problem. I would open "file" and cruse over to "open recent" I get this "Gimp-2.6.exe- No disk" As the header. Then bellow it says: "There is no disk in the drive. Please inset a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR2." Then I've tried "cancel" "try again" "continue" and all of them don't do anything. I have to click one of them multiple times until it goes away and does nothing.

You likely meant 2.6.11 and 2.6.12. Anyway:
