If you have a very busy schedule, the calendar output is absolutely not usable at all. See screenshot, it's self explanatory.

How hard must be your life.. ;-)

I guess the number of events could be limited to about 10, but there's not much to do to allow you to read all of them in the Shell's calendar.

I am not sure I understand. What's wrong with a user having more than 10 events a day? What about implementing the same kind of scrolling behaviour that the (wireless) network lists often benefit from?

Well, the difference is that, for wireless networks, the top of the list always contains the networks you already connected to, which means the hidden networks are most likely useless to you. For the events, you're likely as much interested in those happening in today's afternoon than in those happening in the morning. Same for tomorrow. So, even with accordions, the situation wouldn't be very nice for busy schedules.

One solution would be to collapse tomorrow if today is already full enough, and collapse today if you click on tomorrow.
Comment 5 Allan Day 2011-12-31 11:31:05 UTC
Possibilities:

 * Don't show tomorrow's events if there are a high number of events today
 * Don't show today's events that are in the past
 * Use a scrollbar

Dup'ing on a newer bug, which has more extensive design advice.
