Description Lionel Dricot 2011-12-08 11:31:59 UTC
If your name is said in a MUC, you can hear a sound and, if you have docky, the empathy icon is highlighted to notify you.

But, in GNOME-shell, there's no way to see that notification. If you don't have docky and you don't hear the sound, you will miss the notifaction.

A notification should be persistent in the gnome-shell notification area.

Closing as a dup of bug #661731 as that's basically the same issue.
