using Nautilus 3.0.2-0ubuntu2~natty1 from GNOME 3 PPA on Ubuntu 11.04.


1) Open a nautilus window and split it with "F3"
2) Right-clic on a file > Rename (or "F2")
3) Nothing happens.


Expected:

3) To be able to rename the file, just like when you are not in splitted view.

Details: it only happens in the second pane (right side) if the scroll bar is not at the top (even moving it from one pixel is enough)

To reproduce:

1) Open a nautilus window and split it with "F3"
2) Scroll the right pane so the scroll is not at the very top.
2) Right-clic on a file of the right pane > Rename (or "F2")
3) Nothing happens

Why the hell it's 'unconfirmed' and 'normal'?! Who needs file manager which CANNOT RENAME FILES?

Probably a duplicate of bug 646900, what do you think? I've found an explanation for this weird behavior.

I think the split view issue you describe is just a special case of that bug, which occurs under specific window width conditions (see my comment there).

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
