Description Xavier Guillot 2011-07-30 20:21:12 UTC
Hello,

PDF Mod is very nice to work on pdf files, but there is one feature that I would like to see, which could make a lot easier manipulation of very large files.

It is the ability to select manually, by writing them, the N° of pages from a document to move / extract them.

If I know that I want to move / extract pages N° 1 ; 5 to 14 ; 240 to 260 ; 1100 for example in a new position where they will following each other, or extract them to create a new file, or add them to another pdf, I should be able to select them in a window : 1;5-14;240-260;1100 to do that.

Also, in addition to this, it could be great to have same option for merging a file, if we want to add only some specific pages, ie have a dialog window to select them (like for printing, ex : 1-5;10;14-15), perhaps with a new File > Menu : Insert pages.

In this dialog, there could be another option, the page number after which we want to move / add pages.

Like : Move selection / Merge file after p. N° ...

Now, if I merge a file, it automatically comes to first page of the document opened, it could be great to choose directly where to add it (ex: at end, or between p. 95 and 96).

Thanks in advance.

Similar to Bug 651518

Insert command is problematic. It says Insert Pages... but it inserts all pages from selected file.

Fix: Add option of adding exact page numbers
Preferred Fix: Make the + button open the selected file in a new instances of PdfMod from which we can easily drag & drop the pages we want. Note dragging & dropping a does this already (i.e. easy fix) but many people will not know about this.

Thanks, Great simple & lightweight software!

pdfmod is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes
in 2011. Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/pdfmod/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
