GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 654171
[pidgin importer] IRC accounts all show up as "irc (nick)", making them hard to distinguish
Last modified: 2011-12-16 15:55:09 UTC
I have several IRC networks configured, but they all appear like this in various places in Empathy: irc federico irc federico1 irc federico That is, there is no way to tell which IRC network each entry refers to. It would be good to show the actual network (irc.gnome.org, irc.freenode.net, etc.).

Sounds like bug #598394. Which Empathy version did you use to CREATE those accounts?
This is 3.0.2. I didn't create the accounts by hand; they got imported from Pidgin the first time I ran this version of Empathy.
Ah cool, that's a bug in the import code then.

Created attachment 203655 [details] [review] import-widget: use the server in IRC account display name User generally use the same nick on different servers so just displaying the nick isn't very useful.

Thanks! I don't expect to run the Pidgin importer ever again, but it's reassuring to know that this won't happen to others doing the upgrade :)
