GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 653677
Warn when losing formatting or precision on Save or Open
Last modified: 2018-09-21 16:12:06 UTC
When saving a file, warn the user if the chosen subtitle format doesn't support all the formatting features or precision required. 1) Each subtitle format specifies what "features" it supports 2) When saving a subtitle, check if the format supports all elements that are being used 3) If not, report to the user, to decide to continue saving in that format, or switch to a different one.
Also warn when saving negative numbers (times or frames). Applications won't be able to open those files afterwards.
OK. If "negative numbers (times or frames)" means the appearance of an earlier subtitle after a later. Numbers with the sign (minus) I have not tested. Paweł
(In reply to comment #2) > OK. If "negative numbers (times or frames)" means the appearance of an earlier > subtitle after a later. > Numbers with the sign (minus) I have not tested. I actually mean numbers with the minus sign here. Detection of subtitles that overlap should go into bug #439832.
