Description Freddy Neumann 2011-06-01 06:39:33 UTC
Banshee doesn't recognize when a (Id3)tag ist deleted with an external tag-editor. Re-importing media doesn't work. The deleted tags are still displayed in the tracklist with the last value shown.

I have some MP3-files with grouping tags (TIT1) on an external drive. I deleted the grouping tags (with an tag-editor) while Banshee is running with library watcher active. Banshee doesn't recognize that the grouping tags are disappeared. Normally editing ID3Tags with an external editor works fine while Banshee is running. Every change is recognized after a few seconds, but not deleted tags. They are still displayed...

Re-importing the media files do not help. All deleted tags must be deleted a second time (in database) with Banshee's builtin track editor.

The main issue here sounds like updating a track's built-in metadata has no effect on the metadata that Banshee stores in the database, even after rescanning the library. This sounds like a duplicate of Bug 649806, but if you disagree, feel free to reopen this report.
