Banshee does not seem to support podcasts that require a username and password.  Other applications (like Rhythmbox for example) allow for adding the credentials to the podcast URL like "http://username:password@podcast_url".  I think that Banshee should also support authenticated podcasts since it seems like a fairly common use case.
