GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 648185
evolution has issues with small screens with gnome-shell
Last modified: 2011-04-19 12:09:52 UTC
When running an initial evolution on a clean install of gnome-shell (Fedora 15) on a netbook with a 1024x600 screen the initial startup wizard doesn't fit on the screen. Its not possible to see or press the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. If I run evolution from the command line with the --express option the wizard fits to the screen fine and I can get through to a running evolution. The next time I run it it doesn't retain the "express" look so I have to always run it from the command line. There should be an option to always start in that mode. When running in express mode the Preferences dialog doesn't fit on the screen either which makes it very hard to change any options as there's not even a scroll bar to allow you to scroll down to the lower options. In express mode the preferences should also assume the same layout as the rest of the express version of the client.
