Description Matthias Clasen 2011-04-14 13:47:40 UTC
Submenus are even less popular than menus in general, these days, and the move to a fixed workspace' pattern doesn't really work with the dynamic workspaces we have now. What I would really like to have instead (as it is almost always what I want) is 'Move to a new workspace'.

Technically that would be implemented as 'Move to the last (empty) workspace', right?

+1 for killing that submenu.

I assume, yes.

"Move to the last workspace" should be a good wording

Would it? Once the window has been moved, the workspace becomes the pen-ultimate workspace :-)

Are we sure we want to do that?
I personally use a fixed workspace layout, and find it useful, from time to time. Given that the window menu is not intended for normal use (it's very undiscoverable, now that windows don't have icons), I think it makes sense to keep some corner case features there.
Comment 7 Florian Müllner 2014-04-26 14:19:52 UTC
It's a bit incidental, but Jasper's patch set to move the window menu into the shell removes the submenu.
