GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 641342
Don't save in ~/Desktop as default
Last modified: 2011-06-13 19:09:25 UTC
GNOME 3 no longer "use" Desktop folder by default. Could be good offer a different default place to save. Note that Background module in System Setting automatilly offers as usable background all image files available in ~/Pictures. So, if you plan to use this directory, could be good create a ~/Pictures/Screenshot Or simply save in $HOME.
Definitely not a GNOME blocker :)
Created attachment 185009 [details] [review] screenshot: Save to the user's home directory by default Saving to the Desktop doesn't really make much sense with GNOME 3, and this matches where gnome-shell saves its screencast recordings by default.
Review of attachment 185009 [details] [review]: dunno, I still think we should be using XDG_PICTURES_DIR instead. $HOME doesn't make much more sense than Desktop.
I wouldn't have thought to look in the pictures folder, but that might just be me...
