GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 638205
Universal Access Settings doesn't allow you to enable/disable "accessibility" key
Last modified: 2011-02-17 17:49:41 UTC
BACKGROUND The schema org.gnome.desktop.interface.gschema.xml distributed by gsettings-desktop-schemas, defines the key "accessibility" with the next information: Summary: Enable Accessibility Description: Whether Applications should have accessibility support This setting is used to check if the accessibility related modules and programs should be used (ie [1]). The Universal Access Settings allows you to configure all the related accessibility tools. EXPECTED OUTCOME The Universal Access Settings should allow you to enable/disable the "accessibility" key ACTUAL OUTCOME Universal Access Settings doesn't allow you to modify this setting (although it was in the past, you just need to check any current GNOME 2.0 distro) PS: not sure if this bug fits to this component or to "Assistive Technologies". Sorry if the component not is the proper one. [1] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633194
As discussed, there won't a separate setting for this. bug 642596 will take care of making sure the "toolkit-accessibility" key is enabled when the screen reader or on-screen keyboard is enabled. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 642596 ***
