GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 637881
Pulse's Banshee volume level does not match the level on the GUI of the application
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:52:16 UTC
Steps to reproduce : 1: Set a volume level in Banshee & Play a song 2: Check volume level in Sound Preferences > 'Applications' Tab. Notice that the volume level is not the same in both the places. [Banshee and the Sound Preferences where banshee registers itself as playing] And that the two volume levels can be changed independently of each other. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/692887
Banshee:Ubuntu
Very likely duplicates: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=613726 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=628165 Also PulseAudio on remote is broken https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=613725 Clearly we need to investigate PulseAudio. I added a preliminary task to my contribution list. http://live.gnome.org/Banshee/CommonQuestions/EasyContributionsAndHacks Thank you for reporting this.

I'm fairly certain I fiddled with this at one point during the implementation of gapless playback. I'll see what I can roust up.
It sounds like the patches attached to bug #644648 could be for the same issue (pun half-intended). It'd be great if anyone could confirm that.
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
