GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 635802
No transactions/balance download possible from ofx.chase.com anymore: gnutls_handshake: -9
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:48:18 UTC
version 2.3.17 no transactions/balance retrieved from ofx.chase.com. works fine in 2.2.9. no messages available due to another bug. "close when finished" can't be unchecked in "online banking connection window". ofx.log is no help.
Is there any message in the trace file, http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Tracefile ?
sorry, my first bug rpt but i've used gnucash since 2007. see below. * WARN <qof.engine> [guid_init()] only got 2237 bytes. Just tested 2.4.2 & still doesn't work. Can't believe it's into .2 release with a major glaring bug like this, or do you think people don't need online banking? GnuCash is totally unusable if it won't talk to a major bank!

I have the same problem, except with Fifth Third Bank. Online banking (OFX) worked great through 2.2.9. Both new releases don't work. When I try to get transactions, this is what the log shows: Sending jobs to the bank(s) Locking user xxxxxxxxxxx [this was my SS number so I took it out] Resolving hostname "banking.53.com" ... IP address is 216.82.178.23 Sending request... Connecting to bank... TLS Handshake Error: -24 (Decryption has failed.) Error parsing server response Unlocking user xxxxxxxxxxx [this was my SS number so I took it out] Postprocessing jobs Resetting provider queues It then says "The Online Banking import returned no transactions for the selected time period" I tried to re-do the online setup, though I'm not sure if it was actually getting the accounts again, or just using the ones that were already there. Anyway, it had no effect. Please let me know if there is any progress on this. Thanks!
(In reply to comment #2) > * CRIT <aqofxconnect> network.c: 397: Saving response in "/tmp/ofx.log" ... can you attach that file? Did you compare your settings with http://www.ofxhome.com/index.php/institution/view/636 ? (In reply to comment #5) Did you compare your settings with http://www.ofxhome.com/index.php/institution/view/450 ? Can you both play with the settings as shown in http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Aqbanking#Debugging to get the log more verbose? Reset the bug status to unconfirmed, if you answer.
I forgot: anonymize your logs by replacing your account number and other private data with XXX
I had a similar problem, but with handshake error -14. Then I found out that my bank only supports the current and prior two years of quicken. When I changed the settings to emulate Quicken 2013, it worked. Maybe this will work for you?
M Licina: thanks for your valuable tip. Since the others having this issue haven't replied in any way I assume it now works for them or they have lost interest. So I'll just close this bug as INCOMPLETE. If anyone still runs into this, feel free to reopen.
I put a note in http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Setting_up_OFXDirectConnect_in_GnuCash_2#Known_Problems
