GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 634957
Lyrics plugin works, but context pane does not show lyrics.
Last modified: 2011-03-21 23:43:27 UTC
When playing a song, the artist and album information in the context pane (plugin; right side with last.fm top tracks, etc) display as they should. However, if I click the Lyrics button on the Context Pane, it simply says "Loading lyrics for The Noose by A Perfect Circle" (or whatever the song is). If I press Ctrl+L to bring up the lyrics window, lyrics are displayed perfectly. This bug exists whether or not the lyrics are accessed from the web or stored locally in a directory, and the bug is 100% reproducible. This issue exists on an install over a year old, one done a few weeks ago, one done about six months ago, and all on different computers (all three use Arch Linux). No error messages display when running Rhythmbox from a terminal, and debug output seems to show the plugin loading though it doesnt work as stated above. I do not experience the issue on my Gentoo install which is currently running Rhythmbox 0.12.8. I initially thought this was a bug related to Arch, and filed a bug report there: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/21618#comment68542 As you can see, they suggested I file upstream and directed me here. I will comment on the Arch bug report referencing the URL of this bug report. All necessary dependencies for Rhythmbox and the context pane up-to-date and installed. I am using an up-to-date version of Arch Linux as of 15NOV2010 18:00 US/Central time, as well as Rhythmbox 0.13.2.
