Description Agustín Dall'Alba 2010-08-30 22:53:48 UTC
My library consist mainly on FLAC and OGG files. I've told banshee to write the ratings and play counts on the files. The data is correctly written in the files, but not imported. Instead of importing the actual rating, the track gets a 5-star rating.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to Edit → Preferences and check "Write ratings and play counts to files"
2) Rate any track you have on your library with less than 5 stars
3) The rating is correctly written in the file:
$ metaflac --list 05.\ Treefingers.flac  | grep -i banshee
    comment[9]: RATING:BANSHEE=0.6
    comment[10]: PLAYCOUNT:BANSHEE=2
4) Remove the track from you library.
5) Import it again.

Actual Results: Playcount is imported correctly. Rating is 5 stars. After playing the track, the metadata is changed in the file:
$ metaflac --list 05.\ Treefingers.flac  | grep -i banshee
    comment[9]: RATING:BANSHEE=1
    comment[10]: PLAYCOUNT:BANSHEE=2

Expected Results: Rating and playcount are imported correctly.

Additional Information: ID3-tagged files are imported correctly.

Sounds related or possibly a dupe of bug #615351 and/or bug #626803
Comment 2 Agustín Dall'Alba 2010-09-01 20:21:49 UTC
Marking as dupe of bug #626803 . I can confirm this in 1.7.3 version of Banshee as well, hope it gets fixed for 1.8.
