GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 627391
[gapless] Repeat Single does not smoothly loop audio
Last modified: 2014-02-17 23:16:09 UTC
This report was originally filled at: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/586220 Steps to reproduce: 1. Load any song into Banshee (preferably, one that loops. Videogames have a lot of these.) 2. Set Banshee to Repeat Single. 3. Press Play What happens: The last second of the song is never played. There is a very noticeable gap between the end and the start of the song. What I expected: Song is reproduced in its entirety. Song loops with no gaps. note: this issue is affecting to banshee 1.7.3.x series too
Created attachment 168303 [details] audio to test looping Thanks for forwarding the bug upsream. I'm attaching the audio from the downstream report, though I haven't personally tested it yet. Potentially relevant: is this issue happening with Gapless Playback turned on or off (or both)?
I am not sure about what Gapless Playback means (sorry).. but I tried to reproduce this issue using Playback->Repeat Single option, actually you can test it without hearing entery song, you can forward to the end of song (around 5-10 seconds before ends) and pay attention to the timer. if you need any other information please feel free to ask, Regards Victor
(In reply to comment #2) > I am not sure about what Gapless Playback means (sorry).. In Banshee's Edit -> Preferences, there is the option to Enable Gapless Playback. This option will only show up if you are using a new enough version of gstreamer (which should be the case for Ubuntu 10.04, but not 9.10 and earlier). Turning this option on or off may make some difference, but either way, chopping off the last second of the song is not the expected behavior.
@Michael, with Gapless off this behaviour looks fine such a workaround but cut the last two seconds of a song maybe is definetely not a expected behavior, thought. Any way, after enabling "Repeat Single" option I have encounter some weirds results such when click in other songs banshee just not start to play or mark with a cross some files but I will fill a new report for that.
