Description paull 2010-08-09 14:42:19 UTC
When choosing File->New or hitting ctrl-n or right-click on notebook -> New Note a blank note pops up with a title such as "New Note 308" and the text "describe new note here" is already inserted and highlighted. When the user starts typing that standard-text will then automatically be replaced with the user's own text.

As a general workflow it would be much more convenient (in my opinion) if instead the generic title was highlighted so the user could start off typing the title immediately withouth having to use the mouse later to go and replace the title manually...

I can see that as a tradeoff Tomboy would probably have to drop the generic "describe new note here" text. But is that text really so useful?

Just my two cents. Best regards.

This has been discussed quite a bit.

We're not going to change the default behavior, but we might make it configurable in the new note template.
