Description Sense Hofstede 2010-07-22 09:16:09 UTC
As part of an effort to make it easy to translate subtitles for GNOME (and GUADEC) related videos I've set up the 'video-subtitles' repository at <http://git.gnome.org/browse/video-subtitles>.

At the moment it only contains one video, but I plan on using it at least for every GUADEC video and try to get other people to use it as well.

It would be great if translation could be done via Damned Lies because that would allow the existing translation infrastructure to be used for this.

Uploading of subtitles and the generation of subtitles, PO and POT files has to be done manual still, but maybe GNOME Bug #624617 might help automate a few of those tasks.

I would like to request to add the 'video-subtitles' module to Damned Lies.

I completed Simos work to setup this new module. Setting the Pot method to ":" (noop), we simply reuse the committed pot file (I know, this *should* be documented!). Hopefully we can drop this trick when #624617 is resolved.

Sense, I don't know if the .srt generated files should be committed. There should be a sort of Makefile to dynamically build them instead (except of the original one, of course).

Thank you! I'll try to write a Makefile the next few days to automate some things.
