Description Bastien Nocera 2010-05-12 22:27:14 UTC
When an application prefers dark themes, the border around the window doesn't match the colours used inside it, because metacity/mutter/compiz use the "light" theme colour, not the dark one.

The application should export whether they prefer dark themes so that window managers that follow the GTK+ theme can match it.

do you have any concrete proposal ? this would probably involve GtkWindow looking at the settings, and if it is set, set some X property for the wm to pick up.
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2010-05-17 16:29:18 UTC
No concrete proposals, I don't expect the code to be very complicated, but getting it accepted in window managers, and in the NET_WM spec properly requires somebody who knows what he's talking about.
