Description jan.varho 2010-03-22 12:12:53 UTC
When adding a keyboard layout from keyboards preferences, the long Country and Language lists in the Choose a Layout dialog can only be navigated using the arrow keys (or the mouse), but not by typing the first letters of the country/language in question, like in most list boxes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the Country list in the Choose a Layout dialog.
2. Press 'Y'.

Expected:
The selection jumps to Yemen.

Actual:
Nothing happens.

Version:
Happens at least with latest 2.28 on Ubuntu Karmic and 2.30 on Ubuntu Lucid beta.

I would like to get that functionality in gtk. There is already open bug about that. Till that time, this bug is going to remain open.

We have a search entry in GNOME 3's Region and Language "Add layout" dialogue, which should solve this particular problem.
