GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 613148
Accented characters do not work
Last modified: 2017-07-31 12:47:46 UTC
Trying to write French accents in a note with the U.S. International layout keyboard which is my permanent setup. Dead keys do not work in Tomboy. Accent or character is written on the spot not waiting for the second keystroke. using: os x 10.5.8 AND 10.6.2 tomboy 1.1.4 mono 2.6.3_4
Confirmed on Tomboy 1.2.0 (and OS X 10.6.3). The problem is also present with a "localized" keyboard (e.g. French or Swiss French), because not all accentuated characters have a dedicated key (e.g. "ê" needs "^" followed by "e"). So the problem is not only for a potentiel French user with an US keyboard. Please take note that this is a real showstopper at least for French-speaking persons !

This is really just bug #617583, I think, but since we're going to start bundling gtk+ with Tomboy soon it's fine to have a tracker bug for it against Tomboy, so I'm leaving this open at marking it as dependent on bug #617583.
