It should be possible to easily drag and drop files and directories from the browser window to the directory tree.

During this image files should of course not be displayed as thumbnail since otherwise one could not even see which directory he is dropping it on due to the possibly huge thumbnail size.

Not exactly. I know of that report but it seems to be about dragging to external file managers which is not what I requested.
