GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606961
Face detection / recognition
Last modified: 2018-03-21 12:08:53 UTC
There are some face detection and recognition libraries out there that could be used, one well-known is the Intel's OpenCV lib [1]. libFace [2] is another one that specializes in face rec/det and uses intel's lib internally. Gnome's F-Spot has a similar bug request [3]. Also, the same for KDE's Digikam [4] Maybe this should be a meta-project so all photo managers (f-spot, gthumb, shotwell...) can use the same implementation? anybody interested in this feature request ? Robert
This project is not under active development anymore and got recently archived in GNOME Git. See bug 794560. It is currently unlikely that there will be any further active development. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
