GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606575
Numeric keypad not working and "Keyboard Accessibility" activated on server
Last modified: 2021-05-26 09:25:40 UTC
I use Vinage 2.28.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 to connect to vino server 2.26.1 At connection the numeric keyboard is not usable (deactivated on server) but activating it on client does not activate it on server. I can see that the first number pressed on the numeric keypad switch off the num lock led on the server. It seems that an accessibility feature is activated on the server. In Gnome 2.28 (Ubuntu 9.10), this is in: - System -> Preferences -> Assistive Technologies -> Keyboard Accessibility -> Mouse Keys tab - The option "Pointer can be controlled using the keypad" is checked whereas is it not normally. Unchecking it allow me to press verr num on the server.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Vinagre, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/vinagre/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
