long titles results in "..."

If an application has a very long title, every text in the panel becomes a "..." and the application icon disappears. I would expect only the application title to be cropped in the way the alt-tab and the title in overview is doing. The Activities button, the clock and the user name should always be visible.

This is a real bug, but note that the window title isn't supposed to be showing in the panel, but rather the application name; it should show "File Manager" when you are working with a nautilus window. the problem is that your distribution doesn't include a desktop file for Nautilus, so the shell has to fall back to the window title.

This happens a lot using google chromium but i guess there are lot's of applications that do the same behavior. I'll work on a patch to fix this issue.

I thought the label was supposed to ellipsized before it reaches the clock? Is this broken or simply not implemented?
