yes I can confirm this in gnome-commander 1.2.8.2:

look:
fabio@OptimusPrime:~$ gnome-commander 
/bin/bash: gnome-file-types-properties: command not found

I dont know is a dependency problem, but I use 
Ubuntu: 9.10
Gnome:2.28
