GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 601843
gnome websites have no privacy policy
Last modified: 2018-09-24 10:11:24 UTC
Filing this is www.gnome.org, but it also affects planet.g.o etc. Upon visiting www.gnome.org, webstats.gnome.org tries to set a cookie. However, there is no privacy policy linked anywhere on www.g.o. There should be one, detailing which data is collected about visitors, and what the cookie is used for.
Created attachment 170053 [details] Privacy Policy Attached is a first draft of a privacy policy. (The Snowy team needs one as well in Bug 613980) This borrows heavily from Automattic, Inc. and StatusNet Inc., both of whom's privacy policies are licensed under a CC license. I will forward this to the Board and the legal list.
Oops, linked to the wrong bug above - should be Bug 613890
What's the status on this? I'm happy to implement this on a page and link to it in the footer.

See https://wiki.gnome.org/Foundation/Privacy for a WIP. There are a couple of issues to iron out before it's ready involving who has access to the servers, but it shouldn't be long before it is finished.
