Description Pierre Ossman 2009-10-27 16:41:02 UTC
It would be really nice if librsvg was useful without having to build and install gtk for it. A glib dependency I can understand, but depending on a toolkit for a file format lib is a bit perverse.

I haven't looked at the code, so I have no idea what the complexity of such a project is. This is just a humble plea from a library user. :)

RFE ==> enhancement
Might be WONTFIX.
Comment 2 Pierre Ossman 2010-02-21 12:25:32 UTC
Would it be possible to get a description of how librsvg uses GDK and why? Even if there is no current developer interest in working on this, it would be nice to have a description of the problem from someone familiar with the system.

It uses GdkPixbuf for loading PNGs, JPEGs, ...
Comment 4 Christian Persch 2010-06-26 13:52:47 UTC
Bug 622790 makes librsvg use the standalone gdk-pixbuf.
