GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 590384
Gnumeric crashes without error when opening a .xsl file
Last modified: 2009-08-19 18:02:53 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. open Gnumeric 2. attempt to open the .xls file (using either Ctrl+O or the "Open a File" button) 3. Gnumeric then crashes/closes itself with no error or warning messages at all Stack trace: Other information: I'm using the Win32 version of 1.9.10. This is probably a problem with a specific feature included in the spreadsheet. I opened the spreadsheet with Openoffice 3.1 and it opened just fine. I then tried copying the spreadsheet over to a new Gnumeric spreadsheet and it copied over with minor formating differences. After saving this, Gnumeric could open the new version just fine. I would attach the before and after spreadsheets, but I cannot figure out how to do that here.
Please attach the file. (You can only do that after the initial report is submitted -- kind of dumb, but that's the way it is.) http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=590384&action=enter

Hmm... It loads just fine for me, although I notice that there is a image on the sheet. That would suggest a duplicate of bug 591097.
There's an image? I can't see it in Openoffice... Bug 591097 talks about a pop-up with an error message, which I don't get. The window simply closes with no notifications or errors after I attempt to open the file.
The image is near H1-I1. We'll need to locate someone who can debug this on Win32.
Same as bug 591097. Fix in hand, see bug 552545. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 591097 ***
