click by tap stops working after log-in on Gnome 2.27.4
Last modified: 2009-08-02 03:58:59 UTC
Please describe the problem: Hello, It seems that there is a bug with gnome-mouse-properties with Gnome 2.27.4 inUbuntu Karmic. You can follow the bug in Launchpad : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/meta-gnome2/+bug/406247 In System -> Options -> Mouse -> Touchpad -> click by tap is enabled A workaround has found by stardust85 : With the gconf-editor, in Desktop -> Gnome -> Peripherals -> Touchpad, tap_to_click is unchecked. If we enable this option, we can click by tab ! I think after that in System -> Options -> Mouse -> Touchpad, there are some new options in english (and my laptop is in French) about the Scrolling => O Disabled / O Edge Scrolling / O Two-finger scrolling Thank you ! Matthieu PS : Sorry, it's a duplicated bug of this one http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=576705 but it seems that it's not followed by a dev ! Steps to reproduce: We have to change an option with the gconf-editor to resolve the problem. A workaround has found by stardust85 : With the gconf-editor, in Desktop -> Gnome -> Peripherals -> Touchpad, tap_to_click is unchecked. If we enable this option, we can click by tab ! Actual results: All is ok after that Expected results: I can use the click by tap now ! Does this happen every time? After that, the GUI (gnome-mouse-properties) works great ! Other information:
