Need tap actions feature

Any progress in this?
I'm unable to tap-to-click as of version 1.3.1-2(karmic)
Comment 2 Matthieu Baerts 2009-07-29 14:45:33 UTC
Hello,

It seems that there is a bug with gnome-mouse-properties with Gnome 2.27.4 in Ubuntu Karmic.

You can follow the bug in Launchpad : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/meta-gnome2/+bug/406247

In System -> Options -> Mouse -> Touchpad -> click by tap is enabled

A workaround has found by stardust85 :
With the gconf-editor, in Desktop -> Gnome -> Peripherals -> Touchpad, tap_to_click is unchecked. If we enable this option, we can click by tab !

I think after that in System -> Options -> Mouse -> Touchpad, there are some new options in english (and my laptop is in French) about the Scrolling
=> O Disabled  / O Edge Scrolling / O Two-finger scrolling

Thanks,

Matthieu

@Matthieu Baerts :
Thanx for that link... i actually installed gsynaptics and got tap-to-click working...
But GPointingDeviceSettings has a lot more settings... so was hoping they would implement this too. [but if gnome-mouse is working then this is not required i guess] but would like to have the options this offers. :)

GPointingDeviceSettings is not under active development anymore and saw its last non-cosmetic code changes in 2010. Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gpointing-device-settings/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
