Description David Breakey 2009-05-11 20:41:11 UTC
It doesn't appear to be possible to use a vFolder as a source for subsequent vFolders.

This seems to be a regression, as I distinctly remember using this capability to aid in mail organization and classification (I get mails from multiple domains, and used to do this to identify mails I needed to respond to quickly).

I believe the last version I remember using this in successfully was 2.20, but I could be wrong.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a vFolder; set it up however desired, except it must use a real folder as a source. Verify it shows the messages expected.
2. Create a second vFolder, but set it to use the vFolder created in step 1 as a "Specific Folder" source; ensure the specified criteria should match at least one message (I've used "Match All").

Expected result:

The second vFolder should be filtered according to its own criteria, as well as those of the dependent folder.

Actual result:

The first vFolder shows the expected messages.
The second vFolder shows "There are no messages in this folder."

Please always mention your exact version. Is this 2.26.1?
Comment 2 David Breakey 2009-05-11 22:23:04 UTC
Yes.

This is Evolution 2.26.1, as packaged in Ubuntu Jaunty [9.04] (pkg
version is 2.26.1-0ubuntu1).

should be fixed in 2.26.2

That's great! Now I just need to wait for Ubuntu to package it :-)

And now to figure out how I managed to miss the original report; I try to be meticulous about tracking down if something's already been reported ...
