Description Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2009-03-21 07:22:08 UTC
gtkhtml has many limitations and doesn't provide better html mail editing capabilities. I was wondering if webkit can be used instead of gtkhtml. I read that microsoft entrouge & Apple mail are using webkit as html mail editor.

That was probably the vaguest description of an enhancement bug I've ever seen.

Ok I thought people are already aware of gtkhtml issues. Anyways, I'm writing more details here.

Gtkhtml issues I've reporeted:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574071
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=559874
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=542009
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529186

All these issues are there since long time.

As commercial vendors like microsoft & apple are using webkit for their email clients, I thought it might be good. Also I heard that this is already in progress but I couldn't find a way to track it so thought of reporting this enhancement request.

I hope this clarifies the request.
