Description Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2009-03-04 14:13:14 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I just upgraded evolution using opensuse nightly builds repository. I was checking if it has fixed some of the issues I had. First I was very happy to see that if I paste data from spreadsheet, it was retaining table borders which I was missing a lot. But when I tried to edit table data, I realized that it was pasted as image and I can not edit it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Compose new mail.
2. Copy/paste data from spreadsheet.

Actual results:
Data was pasted as image and couldn't be edited.

Expected results:
Data should be pasted as table and should be editable.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

If I copy/paste table from webpage or word doc, it is being pasted as table.
Comment 2 Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2009-05-09 13:03:27 UTC
Reproducible on 3.27.1.
Comment 3 Matthew Barnes 2009-06-15 11:36:20 UTC
The spreadsheet app decides what form to pass its selection data based on what GtkHtml reports it can handle. Perhaps it doesn't support converting selections to HTML. What spreadsheet app were you using?

I am using openoffice calc for spreadsheets. Note that this used to work before. The only problem was that it didn't show borders at that time but it was pasted as html table till 3.24.
Comment 5 Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2009-12-26 07:26:50 UTC
Reproducible in 2.29.4.
Comment 6 Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2010-08-25 11:26:53 UTC
This is fixed in recent versions. Can't reproduce in evolution 2.30.2.
