Description Luca Bruno 2008-12-11 14:21:54 UTC
Please describe the problem:

nautilus depends on gnome-desktop-item-edit which is only distributed with gnome-panel. This prevents other environments from using nautilus without this "egg".
Please either drop gnome-desktop-item-edit usage, move it to a common package or include and build gnome-desktop-item-edit.c in nautilus.

If I understand this correctly this is only used for the Create Launcher from the Desktop context menu my question is then: should we have this at all? Is it really up to nautilus to create launchers? Starting them would be one thing, but not sure about creating launchers...

Basically fixed/obsoleted by bug 654848 nowadays (3.1.4 and later), hence marking as duplicate.
