Description Rosanna Yuen 2008-12-03 03:39:49 UTC
1) Right click on a file and select "Rename..."
2) Right click on same file and select "Move to trash"

The file icon stays with the file name in editing mode. If you press <enter> or click elsewhere, the file disappears as it should have at step 2. However, if an attempt is made to change the file name, upon pressing <enter> an error appears saying the name could not be changed as the file no longer exists.

What would the intended behavior here be? Should the editing dialog be cancelled out, or should the option to move to trash be disabled when renaming? Or possibly another option?
Comment 2 António Fernandes 2013-07-22 22:59:32 UTC
I think it should at least be consistent with list view.

With list view, moving to trash cancels the editing.

The rename dialog has been reworked, fixing this issue as a side effect.
