GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 557864
Gimp crashed by to much brushes
Last modified: 2009-02-11 21:57:46 UTC
Please describe the problem: I copy 152 Brushes to Gimp. Then i start it but in the "Load-Phase" Gimp crashed and don't load along. Vista says the program don't react longer. Steps to reproduce: 1. Download 152 Brushes 2. Copy it to Gimp 3. Start Gimp Actual results: Vista says the program don't react. Expected results: Gimp start normaly Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
You are probably just too impatient. What if you wait for 2 hours? Does it finish in 2 hours?
(In reply to comment #1) > You are probably just too impatient. What if you wait for 2 hours? Does it > finish in 2 hours? > No I don't think so. Becuase i give Gimp now ca 1 hour but nothing happen. Only the follow message stand all the time at the screen: "The program is not right performed on the basis of a Problem. The program will be close and you will be notified if a solution be available." And there is a second factor: My RAM-load go up as long as Gimp load but as the message came on the screen the RAM-load don't go up more. p.s.: I apologize for my bad English because i'm not from England.
Hmm I think there's a bug report about this already... It stops working when you add 152 brushes. Do a binary search and see if you can pin point a particular brush that is the problem. Also, what's the file size of all brushes combined together? If you only add half the files, does it work?
File size: 216MB Yes if work, if i only add half the files. It halt only a littl bit.
How much RAM do you have? I think you are simply adding more brushes than your machine is able to handle. This would basically be a duplicate of bug #330099 then.
