Version: 2.0.12 (Forwarding from Launchpad bug https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/282583 ) Binary package hint: ekiga After going through reporting bug #282568 (in bugzilla as bug 556105 <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=556105>) and then restarting my system after updates to Intrepid, Ekiga refused to start. So I did: $ sudo remove ekiga ... $ sudo apt-get autoremove ... $ sudo apt-get install ekiga Still it wouldn't start, so I installed ekiga-dbg and got the backtrace below with gdb. It's an evolution-data-server problem.
Well, then it needs to be assigned to that package or nothing will happen. Marking it as resolved is not likely to get the attention of any Evolution devs. I've tried to assign it, but I don't think I have rights to reopen it. Can you do that if needed Snark? Thanks.
Oh, that worked fine.
That worked fine but if I were the e-d-s developpers I would close it as a packaging problem : that's the reason why I closed anyway...

Can you please install debug packages for Evolution and Evolution-Data-Server? These calls are missing symbols...
Bug 552491 has probably fixed this and this is a duplicate. Bug 473994 is probably another duplicate. It was committed after the 2.24.0 release. Will be included in next week's 2.24.1 release.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 552491 ***
